Mercury Security Achieves PSIA Compliance; Provides OEM Partners with “Plug-and-Play” Access Control Products

Company Is The First with a Commercially Available Product to Receive Certification for All PSIA Access Control Profiles

LONG BEACH, CA July 7, 2015 – Mercury Security, a global leader in the supply of OEM access control hardware, today announced it is the first company with a commercially available product to receive certification in all three Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) Area Control Profiles: Access Control, Access Control Flexible Authentication Option, and Access Control-Host Managed Access Grant Option. The specifications support interoperability in a multiple-system, multiple-vendor access control environment, enabling security administrators to manage a singular view of all access control and intrusion systems (and devices) that are integrated via PSIA Area Control open standards.

The PSIA is a global network of physical security manufacturers and integrators focused on promoting interoperability between access control and other security solutions. Certification is achieved by passing extensive testing via the PSIA Profiles Test Tool, which validates if a product or system fully complies with either or all three of the Profiles to ensure “plug-and-play” interoperability.

“Not every manufacturer supports every use case covered in the Area Control Specification, which makes Mercury’s compliance with all three of our comprehensive Area Control Profiles a major milestone for PSIA,” said David Bunzel, Director at PSIA. “I am impressed by Mercury’s dedication to the rigorous compliance process; this achievement reinforces their leadership position in delivering truly open and interoperable products to the market.”

PSIA compliance provides the added assurance that Mercury Security solutions are optimized to harmonize and share data between access control, intrusion, video and analytics systems for a systematic approach to true access control. Certification for Authentic Mercury hardware also continues paving the way for OEM partners to lower their customers’ cost of ownership. It eliminates the need for heavy customization, thus accelerating system development and implementation.

“Compliance with the PSIA Area Control Profiles takes the value of the Authentic Mercury open platform to a new level,” said Frank Gasztonyi, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Mercury Security. “For over 20 years, Mercury has been committed to providing innovative security technology to our OEM partners, helping them develop best-in-class access control systems. PSIA certification is an important benchmark in Mercury’s relentless mission to offering partners the most open and interoperable products to meet their customers’ evolving requirements.”

Mercury products also support OSDP, BACnet and several common Internet and network standards, to ensure our partners can build reliable and scalable solutions that meet the dynamic requirements of their customers.
