The Access Platform MR5 is a high-performance magnetic stripe card reader for OEMs that provides a low cost, low power, multi-track, rugged device for indoor or outdoor applications.
The Mercury MR5 is capable of supporting popular Wiegand, clock and data signals with bi-color visual indicators and variable annunciation. A red/green bi-color LED and a beeper are standard and use traditional TLL voltage level. The LEDs may be operated in one-wire or two-wire mode. The card reader accepts low- or high-coercivity magnetic stripe cards with Track 2 encoding. Track 1 and Track 3 versions are also available.
The MR5’s attractive die cast metal housing is first treated with an anti-corrosion film and then coated with a touch abrasion-resistant finish. The reader is mounted with all stainless steel hardware, making it a rugged device with a wide environmental operating range -- suitable for nearly any setting. The nominal distance between the MR5 and the controller is 500 feet.
